Wills Domain : Momentum Confirmed in the 2026 WA Wine Review
The 2026 WA Wine Review from Ray Jordan confirms what we have been building at Wills Domain: a clear upward trajectory driven by focused vineyard work, refined winemaking and a sharpened sense of style.
Ray notes that recent releases point to the effort invested in elevating standards across the range, culminating in the release of the Paladin wines, described as superb. Sited to capture the maritime influence of the Indian Ocean and Geographe Bay, the vineyard continues to deliver wines defined by elegance, finesse, and regional clarity.
The results speak clearly. Across Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, Wills Domain achieved outstanding scores ranging from 93 to 97 points, with the top wines recognised for their poise, depth and long, sustained finishes. The cooler 2023 season in particular delivered wines of precision and balance, while early picking in warmer conditions preserved freshness and structure.
These reviews reinforce Wills Domain’s position as one of Margaret River’s most compelling estates, with quality now matched by confidence and direction.
Wills Domain Eightfold Chardonnay 2024
A finely honed, vibrant and fresh young chardonnay bursting with energy from the outset. Aromas of almond and citrus with a faint brioche note. The palate is defined and intense, delivering subtle crème brûlée, edgy lemon and a light morning brioche finish. Finely focused with an exceptionally long finish. A classy wine.

Wills Domain Paladin Hill Chardonnay 2024
Since this line was introduced a few years ago, it has impressed, and this release is among the best so far. Picked early enough to avoid the heat of the 2024 vintage, it has a lovely vibrant, pristine character while retaining plenty of flavour intensity. Aromas of butterscotch, quince and crème brûlée lead to a deep, penetrating palate with a complex weave of flavours that build momentum through to a very long finish. A terrific wine.

Wills Domain Eightfold Shiraz 2022
The 2022 vintage produced fruit of excellent concentration and flavour, and this captures it beautifully. There’s a pristine purity about it, with lively fruit intensity immediately apparent on the nose. The palate then delivers plummy liqueur cherry, spice and licorice, before finishing slightly savoury. Bright and luminous, supported by chalky tannins and fine oak integration, this is a most polished wine.

Wills Domain Eightfold Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Cabernet also thrived in 2022, and this is a stylish, refined expression from northern Margaret River. Aromas of black fruits are lifted by a touch of red, bringing vibrancy. The palate is plush with plummy cherry characters, framed by chalky tannins and carefully judged oak. Generous and opulent yet elegant, with the structure and power to reward extended cellaring.

Wills Domain Paladin Hill Shiraz 2022
This takes the excellent Eightfold wine up another level. Its smooth, seamless and generous palate sets it apart, making it one of the most complete and integrated examples of Margaret River shiraz. There’s power, but it’s effortless, supported by sublime structural elements. Aromas of plummy cherry flow into a palate layered with licorice and a touch of minerality. Firm yet fine tannins and well-managed oak complete the picture.

Wills Domain Paladin Hill Matrix 2022
A blended red that harnesses the outstanding fruit of this low-yielding vineyard, brought together in a seamless and suave expression of Margaret River. Aromas of red fruits, tobacco, bay leaf and a trace of cocoa lead into a smoothly woven palate where crunchy red fruits interplay with darker elements in compelling fashion. A polished, refined wine of great style.
